Iscar is introducing a new unique milling system using tangential, clamped, butterfly-shaped LNKX carbide inserts. The butterfly-shaped insert has meaningful advantages in comparison to the current flat, square shapes. The new design has numerous cutting edges, positive rake face, lowered cutting forces resulting in increased performance. The carbide inserts are screw-clamped on the border of various milling cutter types, providing optimal conditions also for heavy-duty applications with remarkable surface quality, saving additional finishing operations. End mills are offered for 90 degree shoulder milling and for facing with 45 degree lead angles.
Each carbide insert possesses 8 cutting edges, four for right-hand and four for left-hand cutting, improving the economy of use. The two, toward-center-slanted cutting edges provide on one side strong and dependable clamping of insert in the tool body, and on the other side, the positive axial rake angle. The value of this positive axial rake composition diminishes the cutting forces owing to softer cut and easier penetration into the metal, as well as changing force direction which is required for use on new machining centers with pallet systems less rigid than on the traditional transfer lines.
In standard applications like in the automotive industry, the depth-of-cut is less than thirty thousandths of an inch facilitating the use of all 8 cutting edges of the Tangmill carbide inserts. Furthermore, in the auto industry it is conventional to use a pair of cutters, one for right- and one for left-handed operations, which means that all eight cutting edges of the Tangmill inserts can be applied.
New ISCAR UPGRADES for Fast Metal Removal
Recent developments coming from the headquarters of Iscar, delivering the new Upgrade campaign, which guarantees that they are looking toward the future. The new Upgrade movement, planned to be distributed at the end of year 2008, will offer revolutionary tools for milling, turning, hole making and multifunction applications, complementing the FMR (Fast Metal Removal) tool families with one aim in mind - to boost productivity on the shop floor and to boost profits.
Iscar's highlights for this year, with no doubt, are the new coatings, new substrate compositions, new cutting edge geometries, new sizes, new tangential clamping mechanisms and new coolant nozzle capabilities. Iscar's future trends combine new carbide insert grades for effective and money-saving machining, more cutting edges to each insert and exceptional tangential clamping mechanisms which will significantly reduce the cutting strain. The inception of the AL-TEC, PVD coating principally for nodular cast iron, a-TECH, CVD coating largely for grey cast iron and the DO-TECH, dual CVD PVD coating for enriched strength will transform the way industry machines cast iron. Furthermore, Iscar producing mini inserts is another trend within the Upgrade campaign, referring to reducing the sizes of the Tangmill carbide inserts into Minitang, in order to simplify fine pitch configuration which will speed up feed rates. In addition, the nominal size of the carbide inserts and their tangential location in the pockets allow a much larger core diameter, in terms of tool design, when compared to standard radially oriented inserts.
The Most Recent In Carbide Endmill Designs In A Lengthy And Productive Family From IscarManufacturers and die & mold shops can eliminate chatter problems in many milling operations with Iscar's new Chatterfree endmills. The cutters' variable-pitch flute pattern eliminates harmonic vibration, the main source of chatter. This enables faster cutting and finer finish in rough or finish slotting, shoulder milling and cavity milling.
Iscar Adds Their Latest Creations To A Long Line Of Prosperous Hole Producing SolutionsIscar recently released several different drilling innovations to meet their customers needs. These new products are Sumocham Drill, DR-DH and Deep Drills. Drawing off of their experience Iscar has come up with new and innovative ways to increase productivity for the end user.
Iscar Releases A Revolutionary Line Of Slitting Cutters Applying Tang-Grip Technology And The Sturdiness Of Sumo Tec GradesIscar now offers a family of high-performance slitting tools that combine the convenience and security of Tang-Grip clamping with the added durability of the new Sumo Tec insert grades. The concept, already proven successful in Tang-Grip parting tools, has now been extended to slitting cutters.
Original Cutters And Carbide Insert Shapes From Iscar To Better The Machining ProcessIscar is introducing Penta 34 carbide inserts with a new PB chipformer. The PB chipformer features a single cavity with a positive rake, neutral shoulder angle, and a honed edge. It is actually a C-type chipformer with a different frontal edge.
A Number Of Changes In Carbide Inserts Coming From Iscar Over The Previous DecadeIscar is announcing a brand new unique milling system that includes tangential, clamped, butterfly-shaped LNKX carbide inserts. The butterfly-shaped insert has meaningful advantages compared to the current flat, square shapes. The new geometry has more cutting edges, positive rake face, decreased cutting forces resulting in better performance.
Completely New End Mills From Iscar Can Amplify Productivity While Reducing CostsManufacturers and die & mold shops can banish chatter problems in numerous milling operations with Iscar's new Chatterfree end mills. The cutters' variable-pitch flute pattern eliminates harmonic vibration, the primary source of chatter. This enables faster cutting and finer finish in rough or finish slotting, shoulder milling and cavity milling.
