You may not believe me when I tell you this. I'm sure that if I heard it, I wouldn't probably believe it. Nevertheless, there is nothing that inspires people as much as aerobic pics to get fit and in shape. I know how skeptical people are about motivational pictures. Everyone has seen that ridiculous poster on the sides of their cubicles - some-one climbing a mountain with some caption about "persistence", or "excellence" under it, or some little kitty hanging on to the edge of a table with her claws, beneath which is written, in cutesy bubbly letters, "hang on". It's considered poor taste even to put such thing up - unless you are a middle manager, wherein bad taste is considered avirtue. Nonetheless, at least with aerobic pictures, it is true. The right picture can really get people going.
I should know. I am a supervisor at the Skinny Booty Fitness center downtown, and among my diverse duties is decorating the walls. It has given me a great deal of time to pay attention to people in their workouts, and the differences that those cardio photos make is astounding. I found this when I was studying to be a
fitness trainer and I noticed that the sections in my study guide that had pictures of aerobic people inspired me to push harder. And after becoming a fitness trainer I saw awe-inspiring results with my clients in the gym areas that were adorned with fitness photos. Before I put them up, the majority of people seemed to be just drudging painfully through their workouts, with-out hope of ever accomplishing any fitness goals. Since I put up the aerobic pictures, however, things have been very different. It's like the cardio photos give everybody a burst of self-confidence that makes them practically shine. I know the shimmer of sweat, and can tell it from the gleam of confidence. This here is the gleam of confidence. They look at those cardiovascular pictures and stand up straighter, work that much harder, and I believe, go home feeling better about them-selves. Even the cardio exercise classes seem to go better with the pics around the room.
I have even taken down my other motivational posters and put up the aerobic pictures around my cubicle in the sports club. Even when I'm not working out, the pics of fit, trim people doing their aerobics workout program seems to convince me to put a tad more into what-ever I'm working on at the minute. You don't need to be interested in a career in personal training to take advantage of this article. There are many kinds of posters which are prettier, more interesting, and more eye-catching than cardiovascular pics, but I've yet to find one that has a greater effect on the work ethic. And is not that the most significant thing of all?
